What does a PLC splitter do?
A PLC splitter is a passive component that distributes a single optical input to several outputs. It is used for optical distribution in FTTH and PON infrastructure.
What does the split ratio mean?
1×4 means one input and four outputs; 1×16 means one input and sixteen outputs. As the output count increases, optical power in each branch decreases. Choose the ratio based on the network’s optical power budget.
The difference between PLC and LGX
PLC refers to splitter technology. LGX is an enclosure format that organizes connections in a cassette. An LGX product can contain a PLC splitter.
Connector and installation compatibility
Select connectors such as SC/APC or SC/UPC to match the existing network. Along with the split ratio, check cassette size, installation space and the product’s technical ratings.
